Innovative Donates Dictionaries To The Joseph A. Gomez Elementary School

St. Thomas, St. John and St. Croix, USVI – February 6, 2015– Innovative, the leading
telecommunications provider and one of the largest donors to charitable organizations, schools and
non-profit organizations in the Territory, recently provided dictionaries to 140 third and fourth grade
students at the Joseph A. Gomez Elementary School on St. Thomas.

Over a dozen years ago, Innovative Cable TV adopted the Joseph A. Gomez Elementary School and
partnered with the Community Foundation of the Virgin Islands for the Dictionary Project to provide
elementary students with their own dictionary. Although it is called a dictionary, the books are also
resource tools for history, geography, science and other courses.

Jamon E. Liburd, Principal of the Joseph A. Gomez Elementary School, said “I would like to thank
Innovative and the Community Foundation for bestowing these dictionaries upon our third and fourth
grade students. Every morning we begin with the word of the day and it is important for our students
to build their speaking, writing and listening vocabulary. These dictionaries really augment what is
happening at our school. I am truly excited about the dictionaries and what they will do for our
students and their vocabulary building.”

Sandra Hodge, Business Office Supervisor at Innovative, has been spearheading this important project
from its inception. In addition to Hodge, other Innovative employees including Roseita Browne,
Administrative Assistant; Willa Fils, Public Relations Manager and Jennifer Matarangas- King, Vice
President of Public Relations and Governmental Affairs also participated in the presentation to the
school.
