Innovative Announces Planned Maintenance Upgrades
St. Thomas, St. John and St. Croix, USVI – March 7, 2016– Innovative, the leading telecommunications provider in the U.S. Virgin Islands, announces scheduled maintenance upgrades that may lead to service interruptions commencing on March 9, 2016 on the island of St. Croix.
Due to the Virgin Islands Department of Public Works’ plan to resurface a portion of the Midland Road, Innovative will be re-routing its traffic to another fiber cable route, in order to minimize the disruption of service to the public. This re-routing project will take place during normal maintenance windows on March 9, 2016 and March 10, 2016 from 1:00 a.m. to 5:00 a.m. During this activity, customers may experience minimal to no disruption of service.
Once Innovative reroutes the traffic, Innovative technicians will be splicing a new fiber in order to bypass the section of road that will be resurfaced by Public Works. During this phase, customers served out of the following nodes in Mon Bijou will be affected: Nodes 1, 28, 29, 30, 31, 32, 33, and 39 which covers Carambola Golf Club, Cobol, Upper Love, Plessen, Grove, Lorraine Village, Hard Labour, Tortola, MountPelier West, Two Friends and Springfield. The aforementioned areas will experience disruption to their video, voice and internet (data) connectivity. It is anticipated that the interruption will be limited to 30 minutes in any given area. This work is planned to start at 7:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 10, 2016 and Friday, March 11, 2016.
For cable TV or phone repairs, Innovative customers calling from landlines should dial 912. The hours of operation are 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. from Monday through Friday and on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
